GENERAL INFO
  Take your time to get to know the different areas before you buy. The sun condition is important when you are going to live here in winter time, so donīt buy north facing property. The distance to the shops/stores and restaurants. How is the traffic in this area. Will you prefer to live where there are a lot of people from your country or will you rather live among Spanish people? We have worked out a simple guide which might be good to have. In addition we can answer some question and recomend real estate agent which does more than just sell you the property, they can also help you through all the paper work.
BUY NEW
  There are several reliable builders in the Torrevieja area and which supplies good quality. But we have seen horrible examples as well, then again best to examine carefully.
BUY SECOND-HAND
  Why buy new when you can buy second-hand and move right in? Most of the new buildings are already sold before their finished. Thatīs why when you buy new you donīt always know what you get. There are hundreds of second-hand for sell constantly, everything from old houses for renovation to almost new. Donīt think that all old houses have bad standard. Get help from expert to estimate if necessary.
CHANGE, EXTEND and REBUILDING
  Do you already have a property, but wish change or extend? In Spain all building work shall be reported to the nearest Ayuntamiento. There are two kind of building lisence. The plain one called "Licencia De Obras Menor" and the building costs has a limit of 3000,- EURO. These are supposed to be for small work and itīs sufficient with plain drawing or simply a description. The other one is "Licencia De Obras Mayor" and requires authorized architect. OTHER SITUATION IN ACUISITION OF HOUSE
  When sales contract is done, you need electricity, water and perhaps phone. Further you have to register the property for paying of IBI (property tax). Some serious estate agent will help you with all of this, but if you wish we can send you a simple overview for this.
